bet there is no God and you win, you win

lose everything.
If you bet there is a God and you win, you
win everything, and if you lose, you lose
nothing. Rationally
speaking, God is the best bet".

The Mathematical Odds
of Jesus Fulfilling Old Testament
Prophecy,are
Amazing!
"The following probabilities are
taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks
(Moody Press, 1963) to show that
coincidence is ruled out by the science
of probability. Stoner says that by using
the modern science of probability in
reference to eight prophecies, we
find that the chance that any man might
have lived down to the present time and
fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 1017."
That would be 1 in
100,000,000,000,000,000. In order to help
us comprehend this staggering
probability, Stoner illustrates it by
supposing that "we take 1017
silver dollars and lay them on the face
of Texas. They will cover all of the
state two feet deep. Now mark one of
these silver dollars and stir the whole
mass thoroughly, all over the state.
Blindfold a man and tell him that he can
travel as far as he wishes, but he must
pick up one silver dollar and say that
this is the right one. What chance would
he have of getting the right one? Just
the same chance that the prophets would
have had of writing these eight
prophecies and having them all come true
in any one man."
Stoner
considers 48 prophecies and says,
"we find the chance that any one man
fulfilled all 48 prophecies to be 1 in 10157,
or 1 in
10,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
000,000,000."

Prophecy references fullfilled in the life of

The following article
is an extract from the web site
"GraceThruFaith.com", http://www.gracethrufaith.com/ It is
so clear and to the point that
I wanted others to see it presented in "stand
alone" format. I strongly recommend that you go
to their web site for more information on the
prophetic material from the scriptures. (The scripture references are not live links
to the text. However, the two links at the close of
the article, "Rapture" and
"Tribulation" are live links to
GraceThruFaith.com excellant extensive descriptions.)
GraceThruFaith.com
introduces Psalm 83 into discussions surrounding the
Ezekiel 38 - 39 war, noting that Israel is surrounded
with Arab enemies on her borders that are not
included in the Arab nations in concert with Russia
and Iran in the Ezekiel war. The author doesn't
clearly see the direction Psalm 83 is taking. Is it
simply a prayer for safety for Israel from bordering
enemies? He doesn't see it clearly as a description
of a war preceeding the Ezekiel war. But, he appears
to be almost open to the possibility.
A New
Prophetic Discovery
However, now
as of early 2010, a new Prophetic Scholar has come on
the scene, Bill Salus, having written a book titled,
"Israelstine" that strongly ties Psalm 83
to other scriptures, declaring such a war is imminent
and would set the stage for the peace of Israel,
living without walled cities, and having the
increased prosperity that will draw Russia into the
Ezekiel attack. http://www.ablesoftexchange.com/psalm83impact.html See also the video, http://www.lamblion.com/television/programs_pretrib9-Salus.php This is exciting, as it
accellerates the Rapture time!
30% of the
Bible is prophetic in nature
"Did you know that almost 30% of the
Bible is prophetic in nature? More so, did you know
that many of these prophecies have yet to be
fulfilled? A lot of churches give only basic lip
service to the prophecies of the Bible, I believe
that they are doing their congregation a disservice.
Most of the prophecies that have yet to be fulfilled
deal with the End Times and the coming rise of the
Antichrist and the Judgements of God.
One thing I want to make clear, this is in
no way an attempt to put a date on the End Times.
Scripture clearly points out to us to NOT try.
Of the day and hour no one knows, no
not even the angels in heaven, but My Father
only. <Matthew 24:36>
It is not for you to know times or
seasons which the Father has put in His own
authority. <Acts 1:7>
So, know that, anyone who tries to put an
exact date on the End Times and the Return of Christ
is wrong. BUT, the Lord did say that we can know the
general time of His coming if we are aware of events
and are mindful of the signs. Again, I want to make
clear that in no way am I saying that the Rapture and
the Second Coming will occur in our generation, but I
do believe the time is growing near and COULD occur.
There are two periods that Jesus taught
about the end of times. During the first period we
will experience the "birth pangs" <Matt
24-25>, <Mark
13>, and <Luke
21> which are setting the
stage, so to speak of things to come. The second
period will be the actual "signs" of the
end. Here are the "birth pangs" (again, NOT
signs of the end):
Israel becomes a country again. <Ezek 11:14-18>
In
1948 Israel became a nation again for the first time
in 1500 years. In 1967 after the 6-Day War, Israel
regained control of Jerusalem.
Many people will claim to be the Christ
(the Messiah) <Matt 24:3>
Since
1900 alone there have been over 1100 public
figures claiming to be Christ.
Among
them Sun Myung Moon, Maharaj Ji and countless
others.
People
will be decieved by these fakers. Wars
and Rumors of wars, revolutions.
Since
World War II there have been over 170 limited
scope conflicts. Famines,
earthquakes, pestilences.
Billions
of people go to bed hungry each night. Just
view the happenings in Africa.
The
number of earthquakes has increased in both
numbers and intensity within the last 30
years. From 1960 to 1979 there were over 64
earthquakes measuring over 6.0 on the richter
scale. From 1980 to present there have been
over 200. Compared to even the early 1900s
when there was only 8 in a 30 year period. Nations
and kingdoms at war.
It
seems that on any given day somewhere in the
world there is an ongoing armed conflict. Believers
in Christ persecuted and killed.
The
persecution of Christians has been ongoing
throughout history. Of late the numbers of
Christians persecuted and martyred has
increased. Look at the "cleansing"
in Indonesia and the Sudan. Believers
will witness of Jesus to kings and governers.
Believers will be hated due to loyalty to
Christ.
Many will turn away from the faith
and betray others.
With
the advent of Humanism and Occult Religions
many have rejected the Word of God.
Betrayals
by parents, brothers, relatives, friends.
False
prophets will decieve many people. Increase
in wickedness, causing love to grow cold.
To me
this points out the increased availability of
pornography and violence in the popular media
and movies. What impact may this have on the
psyche of anyone? Fearful
events and signs from heaven.
Keeping
in mind the writers were from the 1st century
consider the advent of Supersonic Transports
and Space travel to include landing on the
moon and how those writers might view those
events. The rise
of the Revived Roman Empire (European Union)
<Dan
7> <Rev 17:10>
An increase in knowledge. <Dan 12:4>
The
increase in technology has enhanced the
availability of resources. High speed
computers and the Internet provides
accessibility to endless information. Increased
global mobility. <Dan 12:4>
We are
a mobile society. Planes, trains and
automobiles allow us to move distances in
days and even hours that years ago would have
taken months or may not have been possible. This
brings us to the actual "signs"
(Please note that these are not in any
specific order):
Jerusalem surrounded by armies and
Russia and her allies attack Israel <Ezek
38-39>
Jesus will appear in the sky, the
trumpet will sound.
Angels will gather God's elect.
Believers will be snatched away and
those who are not ready will be left behind. It
is obvious that the invasion by Russia and
the Rapture
are the two primary end times events. What is
not obvious is which occurs first, and an
argument can be made both ways. What follows
these first two events are
"stage-setting" events leading to
and then finally the Tribulation.
The discusses these in a bit more detail.
The rise of the Antichrist. <Rev
11 & 13>
The two witnesses. <Rev
11>
The 144,000 Jewish evangelists. <Rev
7>
The 7 Seal Judgements. <Rev
6>
The 7 Trumpet Judgements. <Rev
8-10>
The desecration of the Temple. <2 Thes 2:4>
<Dan 9:27>
<Dan 11:36>
The Mark of the Beast. <Rev
13>
The 7 Vial (or Bowl) Judgements. <Rev
16>
The Second Coming of Christ. <Rev
20> "
