    • Memorize favorite scriptures; Psalm 119:11, "Thy word have I treasured in my heart, that I might not sin against You." Click here for suggestions re: memory system.

  • Pray regularly! Prayer is simply "talking to God". He hears you speak and He knows your thoughts. So, you can pray audibly or by directing your thoughts to Him. Practice both. You can "whisper" your prayer in private or semi-private settings to control your thought process, helping to "keep on track".

    • John 15:7, "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you."

    • Mark 11:24-25, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins".

    • Ephesians 5:15-21, "Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."

    • Hebrews 10:23-25, "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
