Now, anybody can claim to "know" the future and offer their "guesses". But, without God's inspiration, nobody can be accurrate 100% of the time. anyone's guesses can have some percentage of "hits". However, most such guesses, result in more "misses" than "hits". That is why it is very difficult to win consistently in the stock market.

Biblical prophets worked against a stringent "strait edge". If their prophecy did not come true, they were to be put to death!

"In the Bible, specifically in the Old Testament law, the principle was that a true Prophet would be known by prophesying something that would happen soon. This way people would know that his words were true. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22, see below!) Notably, under the Law the penalty for a false prophet was death. But, the death penalty for a false prophet would be meaningless, if by the time people figured out that a particular prophet was false, he had already died of old age!" Extract from "Answering Islam",

"But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ ²¹ You may say in your heart, ‘How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’ ²² When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him." Deuteronomy 18:20-22

The Bible overwhelms all "competition"! Why? How? Because God "authored" the book! "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God". 2 Peter 1:20-21

So, the true Biblical prophet is to be listened to! 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21; "Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

Only God has a perfect, consistent record of future predictions! And His predictions have been carefully studied and tested for centuries, by both believers and skeptics.

The Mathematical Odds of Jesus Fulfilling, not 100, not 10 but just 8 Old Testament Prophecy. It's Amazing!

      "The following probabilities are taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963) to show that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability. Stoner says that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight prophecies, ‘we find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10¹⁷." That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000.

In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that "we take 10¹⁷ silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They will cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man."

      Stoner considers 48 prophecies and says, "we find the chance that any one man fulfilled all 48 prophecies to be 1 in 10^157, or 1 in 10,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 000,000,000."

The conclusion is forced upon us, that men cannot predict the future with any degree of accuracy. And at best, if they do occassionally make a "good" prediction, it will be outnumbered by many failures! Only God has a perfect, consistent record of future predictions! And His predictions have been carefully studied and tested for centuries, by both believers and skeptics.

What archaeological discovery has had the all-time, greatest Biblical impact?

The Dead Sea Scrolls have demonstrated that the Old Testament was accurately transmitted during this interval.
