Suggestions for Success in Witnessing

Success in witnessing is simply sharing Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God! It is our job to share, but it is God's job to bring the results. Please visit http://www.greatcom.org/spirit/ for a complete explanation on how to make the wonderful discovery of being filled with the Holy Spirit and walking moment by moment under His gracious direction.

A great tool to use in sharing your faith is the Four Spiritual Laws, which is located at
http://www.greatcom.org/laws , and is available in several languages depending on your needs. To share, simply read through the tract with others. There is some online training that will help you become more confident using this tool at http://www.greatcom.org/laws/howto/howto.html .

Just as you probably have discovered, often the hardest to reach are among our friends and relatives. I encourage you to "branch out" and share among acquaintances and strangers as you pray for opportunities for those closer to you. It will boost your assurance and also gain experience that will make you more comfortable in all witnessing situations.

I'm sending along several sources that may be useful as you move out in your desire to witness. As noted above, thousands of us have been able to successfully share the gospel by simply reading the 4 Spiritual laws to the target person, pointing to the text as you read it aloud and they read along. I have been amazed as sophisticated businessmen will follow my lead as I "pull" the booklet out and suggest we look at it together. Usually this follows an "opener" like,

"Do you have any interest in spiritual things?" "What do you think about the after life?"

My favorites are a double-header:
"On a scale of zero to one hundred percent, how sure are you that you will go to heaven when you die?" Then , regardless of their answer, "What would you tell God, if He were to ask you, "why should I let you into My heaven?"" Usually you will get an answer to the 2nd question giving some basis of good works, allowing you to suggest you look to what the Bible says etc. If they respond with a valid answer that indicates they have the Lord as their Saviour, I ask, "Great! Tell me how that came about". When they share their testimony, you have the opportunity to suggest clarification or simply congratulate them.
